Figure Skating Ice Rules

  • All figure skaters must sign in before each session. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. The monitor will remind the skater when their punch card is running out. However it is your responsibility to know.

  • Pick-up a new freestyle calendar each month to be sure of the times and any changes for the freestyle sessions.

  • No one is allowed on the ice until the Zam doors are closed. When the Zamboni comes out, all skaters, including anyone doing a program run through, must stop and exit the ice promptly. Skaters need to watch out for each other while on the ice. There will be no yelling of any kind to another skater if they happen to get in your way. This is a large ice surface, adjust your pattern.

  • Program music will be played in a first come order. Coaches may cut in line for their private lesson but then must relinquish the music to the next program in line. The order is: lesson, nonlesson, lesson, non-lesson ...

  • Time permitting, each skater is allowed to have their music played at least once. You may not RESTART your music. Inappropriate background music will not be tolerated!!!

  • The skater doing their program to music has the right of way.

  • Parents are requested, by the coaches, not to stand rink side for any reason. You may watch your child from the lobby.

  • Avoid socializing while on the ice. Unless skating with a partner, skaters are to practice alone.

  • Only coaches may use the jump harness. Please limit your harness time so everyone can take advantage of it. While using the jump harness, you are responsible to yield the right of way to all others.

  • Using obscene language and kicking the ice at any time will not be tolerated. Intent to intimidate other skaters and coaches will also not be tolerated.

  • Never discuss what your coach can do or what another coach can not do for another skater. This action is considered solicitation by the Professional Skaters Association and could result in sanctions being taken against your coach, regardless of your intent.

  • Help keep our facility neat and clean. Place all trash, snacks, used tissues, etc. into the proper receptacles.

  • All grievances must be brought to the attention of the skating director.
